I don’t read many things, (I should say I don’t read anything) sports related, but a friend insisted that I read this article.
The article, “Meet the chef who helped fuel Sloane Stephens comeback”‘ who is now the US Open Women’s Tennis Champion tells ESPN how she fueled her body during her recovery, as well as becoming competition ready. She credits her success to her personal chef Jennifer Nickle and the Director of Sports Nutrition, Brian St. Pierre both of Precision Nutrition. I have not met Brian St. Pierre personally, but he has been a mentor through my Precision Nutrition certification.
Whether you are looking to fuel your self like a champion or are contemplating a weight loss journey, the foundation is the same. Do your best to make healthy choices, learn what portion size really means and eat low processed foods. If eating out is part of your lifestyle, add vegetables as fillers and add an extra protein if restaurant challenged.
